FACULTY POSITION - Nanobiotechnology/Nanomedicine - Oregon Health & Science University

The Division of Biomedical Engineering in the School of Medicine at the Oregon Health & Science University invites applications for a faculty position in the area of nanomedicine and/or nanobiotechnology. Applicants with research emphasis in advancing medicine through diagnostics, monitoring, and treatment of disease, especially in targets areas of cancer, neuroscience, and advanced imaging are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate must have a doctoral degree (Ph.D. and/or M.D.) and experience commensurate with the level of appointment. They will be expected to develop and maintain an independent, extramurally funded research program. Applicants at the Assistant Professor level will require relevant postdoctoral experience and demonstrated potential for excellence in nanobiotechnology/nanomedicine. Applicants for more senior positions such as the Associate Professor level will require, in addition to all of the above, a well-established research program with a record of extramural funding.

Oregon Health & Science University is a leading academic, research, and healthcare institution, ranked 19th in the nation by the NIH in 2007. The Division of Biomedical Engineering is housed in the new Center for Health & Healing near the Willamette River in downtown Portland. This new building anchors OHSU’s emerging South Riverfront Campus and is connected to OHSU’s main campus by an aerial tram. Numerous collaborations exist within the School of Medicine, as well as OHSU academic departments, and research institutes.
